We have dozens of unique gifts that new parents and parents-to-be will love and appreciate. On the blog today, we will be showcasing some really great gifts. So if you've been searching for the perfect baby gift, we are sure you'll find it here!

The Baby Bunch Bouquet makes a wonderful gift for a new little darling. It is available in blue for a baby boy, pink for a baby girl, or a mixed bouquet, which contains colorful, gender neutral items. The Blue Baby Bunch Bouquet is available in sizes medium and large. The medium bucket arrives in a sturdy metal pail and includes: one white bib, one blue hat, two pairs of socks (one blue pair and one white pair) and one blue onesie. The large Bucket includes: one white bib, one white t-shirt, one blue hat, two pairs of socks (one blue pair and one white pair), one blue onesie and one pair of white leggings, perfectly suited for a strapping baby boy. The baby clothes are made of baby-soft 100% cotton and generously sized for infants 0-6 months, or up to 16 lbs.

Our Bunnies in the Garden Story gift set is a sweet and cuddly gift. This baby gift includes a super soft blanket with satin trim, an adorable bunny cap for baby, a crisp carrot -- and includes a darling story to go with them. The box is pastel-green and white and features a bunny shaped cut out, a puffy bunny tail, a white-satin ribbon and bow with an imprinted carrot motif, a clear window on the back to showcase the blanket, hat and rattle, and an enchanting poem about Bailey Bunny printed all around the gift box.

"Five little monkey's jumping on the bed. One fell off and bumped it's head..."  A classic nursery rhyme that babies absolutely love. This sweet monkey gift basket, is filled with childhood fun. The set contains a precious, bright-yellow banana rattle, plush brown-and-tan monkey,  satin-trimmed, cream-colored blanket, which also includes a monkey-face appliqué and part of the rhyme embroidered on the satin trim. It also features a door hanger, adorned with a long-tailed monkey hugging a pillow - it lets company know that baby’s sleeping. Each adorable item is beautifully arranged in a natural wood basket, wrapped in a sheer organza bag, with satin drawstring.

  • Baby Shower for the Dad-to-Be ~ By Guys for Guys!

Posted on July 5, 2011 by Christie

Oh yes -- you did read that right! Expectant dads deserve to have baby showers too! No, you don't have to sit around with your buds, munching on tiny triangular cucumber sandwiches. You don't have to spend your time playing games such as finish the baby rhyme, pass the dirty diaper, or name the baby food (unless of course you really want to).

No, the Father's Shower is not put together by wives, mothers -- or friends of your wife or mother. We are talking about a party for guys -- hosted by guys. Think bachelor party -- baby edition. A much tamer version of an old favorite.

Invitations can include a note  --  requesting each guest to bring a favorite children's book and a card, which includes parenting advice for the Dad-to-be. Let guests know that if they bring these items they will be treated to some FREE beer -- if not, they should just BYOB or be left out in the cold! Trust me when I say, they will bring the items. Also, if a guest is coming who isn't a father himself yet, he is still asked to provide parenting advice. This usually gives those who are already dads, a nice chuckle!

It's always great to have a little extra fun with the dad-to-be. Perhaps making him wear a neon green, yellow, blue or pink shirt that declares "Dads are Rad" can be entertaining. It also makes for some memorable photos. You never know, he may like it so much that he'll wear it to the hospital when the baby is born.

As we stated earlier, you don't have to play the traditional baby shower games -- unless you want to. Instead, have a fierce jam session playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero. Now that's fun! If you - or one of the other guests - has a Wii, there are tons great games you all can play. For added fun you can place bets or hand out prizes to the winners such as; a free round of golf, a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant, or a six-pack of exotic beer.

Oh, and we can't forget the food! Skip the petit fours and order some spicy buffalo wings, deep dish pizza and anything fried. This is a special occasion after all. Throw caution - and your diet - to the wind, and enjoy!!! Put together a Superbowl spread and your guest of honor, will be mighty impressed!

So what do you buy for the expectant dad? At Charming Chick we have several new and very masculine diaper bags that would make the perfect gift! Gag gifts can be hilarious and fun. You could also put together a "Daddy survival kit" which could include anything YOU think a dad should have on hand at all times -- extra wipes, diapers, pacifiers, burp clothes, ear plugs...wait! Did that say ear plugs? You bet it did! Have fun with it but include some really useful items in there as well. He'll be thanking you every time he has to reach for one of the items you included.

    Most of all have FUN!!!

  • Tea Party Baby Shower ~ A TEA-rrific Idea

Posted on June 3, 2011 by Christie

If  you will be hosting a baby shower in the near future, but you are having a tough time deciding on a theme that you think will be really special and fun -- then you may want to consider hosting a Tea Party Baby Shower. This can be so much fun - not only for the guest of honor - but for all the others guests as well. If you are wondering what you will need to know to plan such an event -- wonder no more! On the Charming Chick blog today we are going to give you all the information you'll need to inspire you and help you to plan a great tea party baby shower.

    Invitations

There are so many options for sending invitations and if you have a theme -- then that gives you an idea of what to look for. You can search the web, your local party store, or even make your own. When you do DIY invitations the possibilities are endless as far as what you want to include. If you are having trouble finding pre-made baby shower tea party invites -- then you can just make your own. They don't have to be super fancy and the guests and Mother-to-be will appreciate your hard work. It also makes a really nice keepsake for the baby book.

    Location, Location, Location

Decide on a palace. Where you will be hosting the event will help you to decide what kind of decorations you will need. Tea houses are a great place to host. They usually have beautiful china or silver tea sets, some have hats, gloves and other fun dress up attire so everyone can look "proper" for the tea. Discuss what you can bring in, what they provide, and what decorations are acceptable.

If you decide to host it in your home, then you will need to provide all of the tea related items. Sometimes tea sets can be rented out for a fee. You can contact a tea house. They may have sets or they may be able to direct you to a place that rents them out.

    Decorations and Favors

The cute little bird salt and pepper shakers pictured above would make a great favor for a tea party baby shower. Little goodies in favor boxes work well too and anything baby related makes a fun baby shower favor. At Charming Chick we have some really cute favors,  so be sure to check them out.

As far as decorations go, you can incorporate baby and tea party decor into the festivities. If you know the baby is a girl, make it a pick theme -- if it's a boy do blue. You certainly can do other colors but if some of the guests still don't know the baby's gender, this is a great way to let them know. If twins or more are expected you can do peas in a pod theme or something else and mix that in with the tea party items.

Another really fantastic idea that goes extremely well with a tea party -- is to do vintage baby decor. This looks so great and gives the baby shower tea party a sophisticated feel.
