August 3rd is National Friendship Day, which is celebrated on the first Sunday of August each year in the United States. What a great time to show a friend how much she means to you!
Friendship Day was originally declared a holiday in honor of friends by Congress in 1935. Many countries around the world have now joined the celebration.
We celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day, so why not Friendship Day? Friends are there for us during the good times and the bad, so let a special friend know how much you appreciate her. You could send her a quick email, meet her for lunch, or treat her to a small gift. Just letting her know that you are thinking of her is the important part.
